The Republic of Yemen is a country located in the Middle East, occupying the southwestern to southern end of the Arabian Peninsula. It borders Saudi Arabia in the north, the Red Sea in the west, and Oman in the east. Yemen is possibly the oldest inhabited country in the world and houses one of the oldest cultures in the world. This and the landscape, the tropical forests, the mountains (Haraz mountains), the deserts and the architecture are the main tourist destinations (Wadi Hadramawt). Sana'a, the capital, is like an open air museum.
