The State of Israel is situated on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. It borders Lebanon in the north, Syria in the northeast, Jordan and the West Bank in the east, Egypt and the Gaza Strip on the southwest.
The important (tourist) cities are: Jerusalem, Hebron, Akko (Acre), Beer Sheva, Eilat, Haifa, Nazareth, Tel Aviv, Tiberias and Safed.
Important destinations are: Beth Shean Valley, Caesarea National Park, Carmel Range, Dead Sea, Ein Avdat, Jezreel Valley, Judean Desert, Masada, Ramon Crater and Sea of Galilee. |
